Why I became a financial protection consultant
A lesson from ten years ago
Ten years ago, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She went from managing daily life on her own to needing full-time care within a very short time. A friend working in insurance helped us file a TPD (Total and Permanent Disability) claim on her life policy, and that payout funded her care in the years that followed.
2019 — Joining Great Eastern Life
That experience is why my wife and I joined Great Eastern Life together in 2019, becoming financial protection consultants. By then I already had nearly 30 years of experience in IT and networking — analysing problems carefully and finding gaps systematically was second nature to me, and it's the same approach I now bring to every family's financial review.
